"Tech support didn’t really help"
So... I spent a long time waiting around for support, and when I finally got a response, it was vague. I still don’t have a fix, which is really frustrating.
"Not great for what I paid"
The light was fine when I first started using it, so I thought it would be decent. But the buttons feel kind of cheap, and after a few weeks it started flickering. Maybe I just got a bad one, but for the price I feel like it should’ve lasted better than that. I’m not really happy with it...

"No response from after-sales support"
I reached out to after-sales support and I’m still waiting for any kind of reply. That makes me uneasy, because if something goes wrong after purchase, I’d want to know there’s someone who’ll actually help. Based on my experience so far, I’d be cautious before buying

"Delivery took way too long"
My order took way longer to arrive than I expected, and I barely got any updates along the way. I kept checking for tracking info but there wasn’t much to go on, which was frustrating. At this point, I’d really expect some kind of compensation or discount for the inconvenience.

"Support Was Hit or Miss"
My experience with support was hit or miss, leaning more toward miss. I reached out and didn’t hear back for days, which was really frustrating when I just needed some help

"Getting this set up took way longer..."
Getting this set up took way longer than it should’ve. I kept going back to the instructions but they weren’t much help, and it just felt like a faff from the start. For the price, I really expected it to be quicker and more straightforward tbh.
"Feels a bit cheap for what I paid"
The light does work, so maybe I’m being too picky, but the overall build just doesn’t feel great to me. The knobs feel kind of loose and not very solid, and the casing has that flimsy feel like it might not hold up well. For the price, I thought it would feel a lot more sturdy.

"Accessories were a hassle"
I bought a rotolight thinking my existing mounts and modifiers would just work with it, but of course they didn’t. I ended up needing extra adapters and random bits, which got annoying really fast. Like, why isn’t this clearer before you buy it? The light itself is fine, but having to figure out compatibility after the fact was a frustrating little rabbit hole I did not want to deal with

"I sent my Rotolight in after it..."
I sent my Rotolight in after it suddenly stopped turning on. the support team got back to me quickly and explained what I needed to send over. the repair itself was done properly and it’s working again now.
I’m giving 4 stars because it took a little longer than I expected, and I did have to chase once for an update. still, overall I’m happy enough with the service and glad it’s fixed.
"A bit too bulky to bring along"
From what I remember using it on a couple of walking shoots, it just felt too bulky to carry around comfortably. It’s probably fine if you’re mostly staying in one spot, but for shoots on foot, I found myself wishing I’d brought something lighter.
"Refund took way longer than expected"
I had to follow up with them twice just to get my refund sorted. You kind of expect returns to be straightforward, but this ended up taking way too long.

"Battery drains way too quickly"
I’m frustrated with this. The battery dies so fast that I feel like I’m constantly begging it to make it through the day, and it’s starting to get really annoying. I expected way better

"Power setup didn’t live up to what was promised"
The power options have been a pain. It sounded like everything would be simple and flexible, but that’s not really how it turned out. The batteries are way too expensive, and the adapters feel limited. I was expecting the setup they promised, but instead I’m stuck dealing with extra costs and a lot of frustration

"Decent flash, but my gut says it needs a little fine-tuning"
The flash does work, so no major complaints there, but my gut feeling is that it’s not quite as smooth as it should be. Sometimes it takes a bit longer to fire than I expect, which can be a little frustrating in the moment. Overall, it’s okay, just feels like it could use some tweaking

"Warranty support was frustrating"
I had an issue with my rotolight and tried to get it sorted under warranty, but the whole process has been really frustrating. Support was slow, not especially helpful, and I felt like I was just being sent in circles. On top of that, the reminders and follow-ups felt way too aggressive, which made the experience even more annoying. For something at this price, I expected much better. It still isn’t fixed, and I’m fed up at this point. I wouldn’t buy again.

"The light itself works fine, so..."
The light itself works fine, so no complaints there. But the app just won’t stay connected. It drops every few minutes, which gets old really fast. I tried reinstalling the app and restarting everything, but it’s still doing the same thing. Frustrating to use, honestly.

"Easy enough to use, but the reminders are a lot"
Setup was straightforward and I didn’t have much trouble getting started. That said, the reminders felt way too aggressive. I get needing a nudge here and there, but it started to feel like I was being pestered constantly.

"Wireless control is helpful, but I wouldn’t rely on it 100%"
I’ve been using my rotolight setup mostly for smaller shoots, and I’ll say the wireless control is genuinely handy when it’s behaving. It saves a lot of back-and-forth when you’re tweaking brightness or making quick changes, and getting it set up wasn’t too painful for me.
That said, the connection has been a little inconsistent at times, especially if I’m moving around the space or running more than one light. The app also feels a bit clunky, so my advice would be to test everything before your shoot starts and don’t leave yourself totally dependent on the wireless controls. Overall it’s useful, just not quite as steady as I’d hoped...

"Colors were way off and the answers didn’t match"
I was disappointed with this. The colors looked completely off compared to what I expected, to the point where it wasn’t really usable for me. I also kept getting inconsistent answers when I tried to figure out what was going on, which just made the whole experience more frustrating.

"Nice lights, but pros may want to compare first"
I’ve used Rotolight on a few smaller shoots, and overall the light quality has been really nice. They’re easy to carry around and quick enough to set up, which I think a lot of customers will appreciate if they’re moving between locations or working with limited space.
That said, for busy professional work, I’m not totally convinced they’re the best fit for everyone. The price is on the higher side, and a few parts of the workflow can feel a bit fiddly when you’re trying to move fast and keep a shoot running smoothly.
Support was fine in my experience, but not anything amazing. I’d still use these lights for certain jobs, and I can see why some customers would really like them, but if you’re using lights every day for pro work, I’d probably compare them with a few other brands before deciding
